Why do we teach?
Many people sometimes wonder why people choose to be teachers. I want to be a teacher in order to give back what was given to me. Education is the greatest gift their is in the world and it is important to share that gift with others. I believe that there is great joy in helping others learn and succeed in life. There are many differences when comparing school work with student learning. School work is not the only way for students to learn. It is important in the classroom to incorporate all different kinds of learning, not just by having students do work. Learning not only takes place in the classroom but it takes place outside the classroom. It is important to engage student in different environments and on different levels of learning. There are many aspects that make for a good teacher. One component is classroom management. It is important for a teacher to have control over their classroom but also have a healthy learning environment. Teachers need to be passionate about what they teach and enjoy coming to work everyday. It is also important for the teacher to respect the students, and in return, the students will respect the teacher back. A good teacher must also care about the material that they are teaching. They need to enjoy their subject and enjoy teaching it to others. Without having these qualities, the classroom environment would be very dark. Students would not enjoy coming to class each day and learning new material. Students would be more likely to act up in class and make for a chaotic and destructive learning atmosphere.
